The Museo del Fin del Mundo is a provincial museum with two historic buildings in downtown Ushuaia. It opened as the Territorial Museum on May 18, 1979, in the former Banco de la Nación Argentina building at Maipú 173. In 1990 it adopted its current name; the Old Government House at Maipú 465 became part of the museum in 2008.
Its collections tell the history of Tierra del Fuego, including the island’s indigenous peoples, traditional objects and customs, local wildlife and shipwrecks along the coast.
The museum offers admission covering both the original site and the Old Government House annex. The provincial tourism service describes the ticket as valid for three days. Check the official museum website for current prices, payment methods, opening hours and guided tours, which can change by season.
