Trails and Adventures in Patagonia
Beyond the race itself, Ushuaia has many scenic trails for visitors who want to experience the region’s natural beauty. Routes vary in difficulty, from accessible walks to challenging treks.
For example, Laguna Negra Nature Reserve, near Tolhuin, was highlighted as a relatively easy trail for exploring lenga and ñire forests. The walk to Laguna Esmeralda, described as moderate in the original guide, takes hikers through peat bog landscapes surrounded by mountains.
For a quieter walk, the Wetlands Trail in Valle de Andorra was recommended for its surroundings featuring more than 11 types of wetlands. These environments are valuable for travelers interested in learning about the natural diversity of Tierra del Fuego.

A Special Place for Trekking Enthusiasts
Ushuaia and its surroundings have many scenic hiking routes with different levels of difficulty. The original article also mentioned Laguna Turquesa, in the Sierra Sorondo mountains, and the challenging route to Laguna de los Perros, near Paso Garibaldi.
These hikes reveal some of Patagonia’s most impressive landscapes. Trail conditions, access and safety requirements depend on the season, the weather and each visitor’s experience.

The original guide noted that the city’s tourism information resources featured maps and GPS tracks for different trails. Always obtain up-to-date maps from reliable official sources, verify whether routes are open and prepare the appropriate equipment before setting out.
Whether you are a trail runner, a companion of a competitor or simply an outdoor enthusiast, Ushuaia is a destination worth discovering for its nature, mountains and variety of activities. Explore the region and its most emblematic landscapes when planning your next trip.
