Starting from the accommodation in the city of Ushuaia, you will take National Route N°3, this excursion takes place towards the Tierra del Fuego National Park in summer.
The route will take us to cross the Pipo River bridge, next to the Ushuaia Golf Club, to reach the Ferrocarril Austral Fueguino station, the attractive Train to the End of the World.
A visit will be made to this striking station so significant for the history of the Fuegian territory. Here we will have the opportunity to learn a little more about this mythical Train and those who wish to board the End of the World Train, optionally, will be able to do so.
The rest of the group continues the route for another 2 kilometers to finally enter the National Park, an area reserved for the protection of the Subantarctic Forest, native flora and fauna. Here we enter the southernmost natural paradise in the world, full of landscapes and scenarios that are forever recorded in the memory of all its visitors.
Among the attractions that we will find, Ensenada Bay stands out, a point from which we will have exclusive panoramic views of the Beagle Channel and its Islands.
A little further on, inside the Park, we head to the Train Terminal Station, where we meet the rest of the group again. At this point, health services are available for those who need them.
The path continues and is surrounded by Lengas forests and peat bogs, until reaching Lake Acigami (formerly Lake Roca), of glacial origin. Framed by mountains and forests, you can spot specimens of native birds.
A few steps from Lake Acigami, a stop will be made at the Alakush Visitor Center to have 20 minutes to spare. This is the time to take advantage of the services of a cafe, restaurant, bathrooms, gift shop and a small museum.
The last section of the excursion takes us to Lapataia Bay, before crossing the Cormoranes archipelago, peat bogs and visiting a captivating beaver dam.
In Lapataia Bay, in addition to the wonderful coast, rich in seafood such as mollusks and mussels, we can find vestiges of the ancient aboriginal people that inhabited the region. We will have enough time there to walk the walkway from which you can take the opportunity to immortalize the adventure in photographs and marvel at the feeling of being at the end of the world.
Finally, we will begin the return from National Route N°3, heading again to the city of Ushuaia.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All the descriptions and itineraries mentioned are illustrative: the times of the activities, their order and the attractions visited may vary, according to the guide’s evaluation and the characteristics of the group.
