The Island of States is located to the east of the Big Island of Tierra del Fuego, separated by the Strait of Le Maire.
Almost inaccessible, full of rocky cliffs, it sparked myths and legends due to its mysterious and rocky appearance. Here stands the mythical End of the World Lighthouse that inspired Jules Verne’s novel. For hundreds of years, it witnessed shipwrecks of experienced navigators who bravely sought to explore the coasts of the area today known as Southern Argentine Patagonia. And even for science, it remains an area full of mysteries and with much to discover.
The canoeing peoples of Tierra del Fuego were the first human beings to land on those dangerous coasts. Today, there are 4 people who live on the Island, in the Argentine Navy station called “Puerto Parry.”
HeliUshuaia invites you to discover the most intact landscapes on the planet, and to see with your own eyes that mythical place so desired by explorers, pirates and merchants.
