The excursion begins at the operator’s ticket office on Ushuaia’s tourist pier. After meeting the team, you travel north along National Route 3 in a van, crossing valleys and landscapes such as Carvajal Valley and Mount Olivia, one of Tierra del Fuego’s most recognizable peaks.
Then the route follows National Route J towards the east, winding through southern beech forests. The approximately 30 km drive to Puerto Almanza leads to a small fishing village where some families continue the tradition of artisanal king crab fishing.
In Puerto Almanza, the crew welcomes you aboard a covered rigid inflatable boat with capacity for eight passengers. Its shallow draft allows the boat to approach marine wildlife at a close but respectful distance, creating an intimate experience.
From the pier, the boat travels across Brown Bay towards Guaraní Passage, a narrow waterway accessible to smaller vessels. You may see seabirds and occasionally whales. After sailing around Gable Island, the tour reaches Martillo Island, where the bow rests gently against the shore so passengers can observe Magellanic and gentoo penguins from the boat.
Important: passengers do not disembark on Martillo Island or walk among the penguins.

The excursion includes round-trip ground transportation to Puerto Almanza, more than four hours of adventure and a boat group limited to eight people.
The original description lists ARS 230,000 per adult and ARS 150,000 for children aged 5–11, with daily departures at 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. These descriptive rates differ from the price currently displayed on the product page. Confirm the current rates and departure schedule directly with Ushuaia Boating before booking.
If you have your own vehicle, you can meet the crew directly in Puerto Almanza and join the Beagle Channel and Martillo Island boat tour without the ground transfer. This option includes more than one hour of navigation in a group of up to eight passengers.
The original description lists ARS 180,000 per adult and ARS 135,000 for children aged 5–11 for the boat-only option. Please confirm updated prices before booking.
