Excursion to the Turquesa Lagoon and Monte Carbajal

An unmissable tour where you can appreciate wonderful views and very varied panoramas. The excursion to Laguna Turquesa and Monte Carbajal begins with a walk of approximately one hour through the forest and then into a high valley, to first reach Laguna Turquesa. Lagoon that stands out for its greenish color, which is due to the presence of minerals at the bottom and that makes it look almost like an eye at the bottom of the valley. Surrounded by mountains and forests, we will make the first stop to enjoy the surroundings up close and enjoy nature.

Continuing the itinerary, we will continue ascending the ridge known as “Gotama”, to reach the rocky slope that leads us to the summit of Mount Carbajal. This ascent does not present great physical difficulty and has an invaluable reward with magnificent views of the Carbajal valley and its peat bogs. At this point, weather permitting, there will be a lunch break.

The way back leads us to another valley, the Olum, in this way, we take a loop tour and we will be able to obtain a more complete knowledge of the area where we carry out our trekking.

• Distance: 10 km total.
• Positive slope: 800 meters.
• Terrain: Wet, with mud, roots and trunks. High rocks.

Excursion itinerary:

• 8:30 We leave your hotel in Ushuaia with our transfer.
• 9:00 Start of the walk.
• 12:00 Arrival at the summit.
• 13:00 Start of the return.
• 15:00 The transfer looks for us to return to Ushuaia.

What to bring to the Turquesa Lagoon tour?

• Trekking boots (medium top and NOT sneakers).
• Sunglasses and sunscreen.
• Medium backpack.
• Gloves and hat.
• Cold weather coat and a rain jacket.
• Screw-on bottle.
